Patients To Benefit From Tawam’s New Interactive Website

October 19, 2008
Al Ain, UAE

Tawam Hospital in affiliation with Johns Hopkins Medicine has launched a new interactive website with a variety of online services. Enabling patients to book appointments online, ask an expert a health related question and take part in Tawam’s health discussion forums, the new site has been warmly received by its visitors.

The website which is highly visual and very interactive has been rated good to excellent by 74% of visitors who took part in the hospital’s online opinion poll. Its patient services online include; e-greetings cards, a virtual nursery, a new downloadable printable location map, a virtual tour of the hospital, quizzes, book an appointment, find a doctor and ask an expert.
Commenting on the new site and how it can improve patient satisfaction, Tawam’s leading Psychiatrist Dr.Emaam said: “The new site provides many advantages for patients, in particular for individuals suffering from mental health related illnesses. Due to the stigma associated with mental health, the online services allow people to discuss their concerns, receive mental health education, ask questions and receive assurance from one of our experts online in a secure and safe environment.”

The forum is an additional service that the new website now hosts, allowing visitors to post messages and ask questions. It provides a wealth of health related information and encourages discussion on a range of critical health issues affecting the UAE. The new online services are now available in English and Arabic at http://www.tawam-hosp.gov.ae
