MBRHE board chairman inspects progress of work at project sites

Dubai, December 16, 2007:  H.E. Khalfan Ahmed Hareb, board chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MBRHE) has made an inspection tour to a number of housing projects being executed in various parts of the Emirate of Dubai by the MBRHE.

Engineer Rashid Mohammed Al-Mutawwa, MBRHE executive director and managing director and other MBRHE board members accompanied Mr. Hareb on the inspection tour which covered areas like the Al-Warqa villas project, Oud Al-Mutainah and Miz-har, where they have first hand information about the progress of work on the various housing projects.

Some of the projects have been completed while others are at various advanced levels of execution.

Mr. Hareb urged the contractors in charge of the projects to live up to the timetable set for the completion and handing over of the projects to enable the MBRHE distribute the houses to those who deserve them on time.

The Al-Warqa villa project consists of 544 villas. Phase 1 of the project, which is earmarked to cost AED600 million, will be completed by the end of this year. The Oud Al-Mutainah project consists of 950 villas in addition to government housing complex.

Passing a comment at the end of the inspection tour, H.E Khalfan Ahmed Hareb said: “The housing projects being executed by the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment came to put into action the vision and wise leadership of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, to provide comfortable housing facility to the citizens of Dubai.”

He expressed deep satisfaction at the level of work at all the projects, which, he said, aimed at providing modern housing facility and ensuring family stability for the citizens of Dubai.

Engineer Al-Mutawwa said: “The houses are of various designs and sizes to meet the tastes of the various categories of the recipients. They have all the basic amenities and utility services. The villas would be distributed to those who deserve them, including large UAE families and other segments of the society who applied for housing loan.”

He pointed out that all the housing projects have reached advanced stages, particularly the projects in Al-Warqa, which, he said, had been completed except the external works which are now nearing completion, adding that the contractors are now working on the observations made by the MBRHE inspection team before handing over the projects in phases, according to the timetable set for each project, until the last project is handed over by mid 2008.
