The board of the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MBRHE) has approved 200 housing loan applications at a total of AED147 million. The move is in implementation of the directives of the emirate's wise leadership. It is also in line with the MBRHE’s strategy of approving 100 housing loans per month for deserving applicants for the facility.

The approval came during the MBRHE board meeting, presided over by the board chairman, Khalfan Ahmed Hareb.

In a statement soon after the meeting, Mr. Hareb said officials of the MBRHE were exerting all efforts to implement the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, adding that the officials had been working hard to provide appropriate housing for citizens of Dubai.

He pointed out that the MBRHE provides architectural and building designs for the villas been built under its supervision to ensure they match with the taste and ambition of each beneficiary. He said the MBRHE also ensures that the houses meet all health and leisure conditions, while those built for people with special needs meet all the requirements of this category of the society.

Engineer Rashid Mohammed Al Mutawwa, CEO and General Manager of the MBRHE said the 200 approved housing loan applications were just the beginning, which would be followed by more similar steps. "This is in line with the strategy of the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment to approve 100 loans every month for Dubai citizens to bring the total to between 1,200 and 1500 loans per year," he said, adding that the loans were for building or purchasing of private homes.

He said the MBRHE was ready for more vigorous activities in the years ahead in order to translate into action the vision of the leadership as manifested in the Dubai strategy of providing appropriate housing for all citizens, adding that the MBRHE would soon convert totally to electronic system in all its transactions and services by developing its website to enable clients process their transactions electronically, particularly the submission and follow-up of loan and housing applications, adding that the general public would be able to have more information about the establishment and its activities through the MBRHE website. “They would also be able to post online their suggestions to the establishment,” he said.
