Enhancing Educational Opportunities For UAE Students
Ducab and Institute of Applied Technology sign Memorandum of Understanding to train and develop young Emiratis

Ducab, the leading manufacturer of high quality power cables in the Middle East, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on June 24th with the Institute of Applied Technology (IAT). The agreement will further enhance the career prospects of students at the IAT. It will provide training services and vacancies within Ducab that are in relation to the range of accredited programs that are offered to IAT students.

The signing took place at Ducab’s facility in Jebel Ali at 10:00 am. Ducab’s Managing Director, Mr. Andrew Shaw, was present at the signing along with IAT’s Managing Director Dr. Abdullatif Al Shamsi.

Commenting on the new agreement, Managing Director, Mr. Andrew Shaw said: “The MOU we have signed with IAT has been developed to facilitate and strengthen the relationship between both parties, and comes as part of Ducab’s ongoing strategy to support the efforts of UAE nationals trying to enter into the job market. It will provide relevant vacancies for qualified Grade 12 graduates allowing them the opportunity to gain valuable work experience within the cable industry”

Dr. Abdullatif, the Managing Director of IAT,mentioned: "The agreement will allow our students to gain experience and a competitive advantage within the industry. By allowing IAT students to undertake supervised worksite visits and work placements at Ducab, the agreement will offer sponsorship to IAT graduates, providing them with the experience they need to get ahead in their profession at a reputable company within the cable industry".
