Ducab was bestowed the Order of Distinction, one of the prestigious Occupational Health & Safety Awards for 2007 from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
The Order of Distinction was presented to Ducab at a ceremony at the National Exhibition Centre which ran alongside the Safety & Health Expo 2007, the UK’s premier health and safety at work exhibition.
David Rawlins, RoSPA Awards Manager, said “Ducab have demonstrated how seriously they take health and safety management and are a fine example to many other companies. We would like to see more organizations following their lead.”
Walter Bailey, Ducab Managing Director, said “We are truly honored to have received this award. Ducab has shown a consistently exceptional level of workplace health and safety since our inception in 1979 and this award reflects everyone’s hard work in ensuring a safe working environment for our employees.’
‘We constantly review our working practices in order to maintain a world class operating environment in our production of high quality power cables’ added Walter Bailey.
The RoSPA awards are not just about reducing the number of accidents and cases of ill-health at work; they help to ensure that organizations have good health and safety management systems in place. Entering the awards scheme reinforces the message that good health and safety is good business and clearly demonstrates an organisation’s commitment to the achievement of high levels of performance in this crucial area.
