More than 40 000 square feet aswaaq to open lease applications for Umm Suqeim and Al Warqaa in March

In preparation for the opening of its two new community centres in Umm Suqeim and Al Warqaa, during the fourth quarter of 2009, aswaaq will start receiving application requests from those who wish to lease in its community centers in March 2009.

Najla Al Khaja, Senior Manager Community Centre Leasing and Operation at aswaaq said:
“We at aswaaq provide space for interested individuals and companies, especially those who have considerable experience in retail. This strengthens our objectives and provides needed services to residents in the areas of Al Warqaa and Umm Sequim." 

“The lease policy at aswaaq is different from lease policies at other centres that only look for financial profit. aswaaq studies the need of the community and provides the needed services as well as employment opportunities for UAE nationals, which builds on aswaaq’s corporate social responsibility”

The total area available for leasing is more than 40 , 000 square feet. The Al Warqaa community centre offers 30 shops, while the community centre in Umm Sequim offers 4 shops and the remaining area will be leased to clinics and medical centers as priority then commercial purpose offices. 

The space offered in aswaaq community centres is to be used for various commercial activities and services. aswaaq is keen to provide a diverse mix of stores to meet all the requirements of the community, inluding: pharmacies, beauty salons, gift shops, cafes and dry cleaners.

On the leasing policy at aswaaq Najla said:
“Our leasing process at aswaaq is designed to priorities a number of different groups. Firstly, we provide a substantial discount to members of Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders (MBRE). We also seek to support low-income and retired UAE nationals, and those living around the aswaaq Community Centre and neighboring communities also. aswaaq also prioritizes those active in community service and other companies that play an important role in providing employment opportunities for young UAE nationals. Finally, we look to companies with well established brand names. A key role for aswaaq is in providing all our members with the opportunity, and tools, to establish their own projects.

aswaaq is keen on attracting Emirati entrepreneurs through providing them opportunities to work at aswaaq’s community centres whether by leasing them shops or through employment opportunities.
