aswaaq opens in the Global Village

Based on its keenness to remain close to the public and to offer the best products and services to customers, aswaaq, a Joint Stock Public Company under formation, has opened an outlet to cater for the visitors' needs in the Global Village during the opening period which lasts from 12th of November to 21st of February 2009.

aswaaq's supermarket in the Global Village is located near gate 4. It stretches over an area of around 4000 square foot. You can find at aswaaq global village a good assortment of goods and toys as well as a daily supply of a wide variety of fresh items. A wide selection of freshly baked pastries as well as fresh juices, sandwiches and snacks all available at very competitive prices.

In his comment on this issue, Mr. Eric Poiret COO aswaaq, said that The Global Village has become one of the leading destinations in the region. It is rich in cultural diversity and offers a variety of retail shops and restaurants from all over the world. Being one of the most eminent entertainment destinations for families, the Village attracts huge numbers of visitors. This year, it is expected to receive around 5 million visitors; therefore, aswaaq wanted to take the opportunity to offer high quality services to this vast number of visitors through its centre in the Global Village." Mr. Poiret added.

On his part, Abdul Ridha Ali Bin Ridha, CEO of the Global Village, hailed aswaaq's participation in the Global Village this year as an important qualitative addition. He lauded the high quality products, the fresh food stuff and the competitive prices at aswaaq's supermarket centre.

Aswaaq represents a unique retail initiative. It is a Joint Stock Public Company under formation, 45% of which is owned by Dubai government. The project is based on a new and innovative shopping concept and it plans to establish 20 community centres and 40 supermarkets in the most vital and populated areas in Dubai.
