Following the successful launch of its first centre in Nad Al Hamar, aswaaq, is in the final stages of preparing the second centre in Al Mizhar for opening in the first quarter of 2009.
The new centre occupies an area of 132 thousand square feet, i.e. three times the area of Nad Al Hamar centre. It will meet the local residents’ needs through a main supermarket supplied with carefully selected food stuff, products, consumables, household and personal items.
As part of its responsibility to support UAE national entrepreneurs, aswaaq had dedicated 20% of the retail shops for members of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Establishment for Young Business Leaders (SME) who are given priority to establish their businesses in aswaaq's centres. Aswaaq also offers business opportunities for local residents of Al Mizhar area.
In addition to the main supermarket, aswaaq's centre in Al Mizhar will provide many services. It will house outlets for the Road and Transport Authority, Du, Emirates Islamic Bank, Al Jaber Optics, Ibn Sina Pharmacy, Wall Street Exchange, Burger King, Damas Jewellery, and others. This signifies aswaaq's keenness on providing local residents with the necessary services, beauty salons, men's and women's clothing and Food & Beverages outlets. All these services are taken into consideration in aswaaq's leasing policy which is based on a thorough study of local residents' needs.
