Aswaaq will adopt High international Standards and Quality Products
Aswaaq's CEO assured the importance of the Project to serve the Local Community, socially and commercially Ain

Abdul Baset Al Janahi CEO of aswaaq, a public joint stock company under formation, assured the importance of the company’s priority in serving the UAE society, both socially and commercially. This includes the provision of goods and services, investment opportunities for UAE businessmen and job opportunities.

In his first statement after his appointment as CEO of aswaaq, Abdul Baset Al Janahi said: “aswaaq believes in the need to improve the socio-economic standard of the local communities. This stems from aswaaq’s belief in the importance of social responsibility. aswaaq is committed to providing essential commodities and services to all members of the family in accordance with the cooperative society concept and innovative ideas by using modern technology in the retail industry.”

He said: "We at aswaaq want to bring a change in the concept of retail business in the UAE by adopting the highest international operation standards which is an international system for the assessment of food safety and controlling food-related risks. It also deals with environmentally safe building standards, the best international standards for water and energy consumption and other international standards being implemented in the developed countries of the world."

He added aswaaq is the first project of its kind in the area of retail trade. It has adopted the slogan of "marketing by adding value to shoppers", adding that the full identity of the company, which will totally distinguish it from others in the region, will soon be made public.

He pointed out the aswaaq project will play a tremendous social and commercial role in the UAE society, including providing goods and services, investment opportunities for UAE businessmen and job opportunities for unemployed UAE nationals. aswaaq will also provide opportunities for all segments of the UAE society, including UAE national housewives offering them opportunities to implement their ideas in the service of their nation.The UAE encourages its people to get involved in business and trade, particularly investment in the marketing and industrial sector, in order to make generous contribution to the development and progress of the country.

Al Janahi noted that trade centres in Dubai have become a role model of trade centres in the world. He said the challenges facing trade centres do not lie in the size of the centre but rather lie in the perfect execution of its operations and achieving of its objectives, adding that most trade centres in Dubai have achieved their targeted objectives and have succeeded in adding great value to Dubai's trade, tourism and other sectors.

"The few days ahead will witness vigorous activities to ensure that the project comes to light with the opening of the first two aswaaq centres in the Nad Al-Humur and the Mizhar areas in Dubai by the forth quarter of this year. Later many others will open in all major communities," he said, adding that building of aswaaq centres are currently ongoing in many areas.

aswaaq, which is the biggest retail trading company in the UAE, is a public joint stock company in which the Dubai government has 45% stakes in the form of cash and corporeal, including the land provided by the Dubai government for aswaaq to build its outlets.
