CEO confirms the leading role played by the Takaful insurance sector in developing the UAE economy.

Dubai Islamic Insurance and Reinsurance Company (Aman) has been awarded the “Best Takaful Operator” for the third year running at the 5th annual Middle East Insurance Awards (INSUREX 2010), held during a gala event , at the Westin Hotel, Jumeirah Beach.

Mr. Hussein Al Meeza, Managing Director and CEO of AMAN, said that Aman was honoured this year based on its continued product innovation and quality, development of business strategies to manoeuvre the economic downturn, and pace of growth in the region. Upon receiving the award, Mr. Iqbal Mankani, Chief Operating Officer at Aman, dedicated the award to the entire team at Aman and to its loyal customers who have been a great source of strength and encouragement throughout.

“The Takaful insurance sector plays a pivotal in the global economy, and in the UAE, the Takaful insurance market is essential to the security of regional investments and promoting economic development in the country,” commented Mr. Hussein Al Meeza, He notes that the Takaful insurance market has grown considerably over recent years and now “has a substantial weight” in the international economic cycle.
