Team welcomes Al Qasba as 2010 national sponsor as organizations support mutual CSR initiatives and safety campaigns in UAE
As the public gears up for the 5th anniversary of racing championship 24H Dubai, UAE racing team Lap57 is working behind the scenes to build partnerships with community organization throughout the country. With a workshop based in Sharjah, this year Lap57 is being sponsored by Al Qasba—the premiere tourist, cultural and entertainment destination in the emirate of Sharjah—which will work with Lap57 in the promotion of mutual CSR and safety campaigns.
According to race organizers, the UAE motor-sport industry continues to grow rapidly and has really come into its own within the last few years. “Given the incredible popularity of motor sports in the UAE, our partnership with Al Qasba is a great way to connect with public audiences who are fans of the sport,” comments Omran Al Owais, one of Lap57’s National Drivers. “We are a young team, and as Emiratis, we want to support habits of safe driving by building community alliances.” With the help of several international companies that looked into the mechanical and safety aspects of Lap57’s vehicle, the team has re-built their 2010 racing car from the ground up, and is ready to showcase the vehicle at this weekend’s race.
“Lap57 is a team that is truly dedicated to excellence in every aspect of the sport, and such work extends far beyond the race track,” says Hazem Sawaf, Director of Corporate Marketing at Al Qasba. “One of the great things about watching motor sports is that you know a lot of patience and preparation was put into the final race. We believe that these values should be encouraged in all aspects of life, and that sponsorships like these are a way to advance that mission forward.”
The Dubai Autodrome & Business Park, which is where the race is being held, is the first fully-integrated automotive and motor sports facility in the Middle East region, incorporating a world-class FIA sanctioned 5.39 km motor racing track, an international standard pit lane complex, and a "state-of-the-art" grandstand accommodating over 7,000 spectators. The event runs from January 14 – 16 and is open to the public.
