Emirates 24/7 Meets Aswaaq CEO

Retail newcomer Aswaaq is setting a new standard for retail trade in Dubai. With a unique strategy under its belt, the company’s ambitious plans to open 35 retail centres in Dubai over the next seven years is underway. The first Aswaaq centre will opening in November

Despite entering a very competitive market, Aswaaq has positioned itself as more than just a supermarket. Covering a total area of 1.4 million square feet of retail space, the 35 retail stores will offer distinct advantages to each shopper and community. As customer service standards have deteriorated across Dubai, Aswaaq is raising the bench mark to ensure that the level of service at the upcoming Aswaaq stores will go above and beyond customer requirements and will meet community expectations. In terms of customer service and quality of goods, Aswaaq promises to produce the best in Dubai in terms of quality, freshness and price.

By the end of this year Aswaaq will have one centre open and three centres complete. In 2009, the company will finish four centres and will award contracts for another four. Each one will have an average area of 45,000 sqft. The areas will range from 20,000 sqft. In addition to the company’s ambitious growth plans, Aswaaq’s softer side can be seen in its recent environmentally responsible initiative to encourage communities to recycle their waste and in its program to train and employ UAE nationals with the Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders.
